World Traveler, Writer & Photographer |
A Baby Boomer who loves travel, travel writing, photography, teaching digital camera and photography, and sharing travel tips and stories. |
Travel stories for boomers
I am a 50-something world traveler, writer and photographer. I am desperately in love with my husband, David, of 20 years. And I dearly love my grandchildren. I love New York City, too, almost as much as the aforementioned humans.
I write and teach for a living as I am semi-retired. I have done everything from being a rock and roll reporter to a private investigator. I have driven a milk truck and I have written and produced murder mystery theater.
I get bored easily and I hate liars. I love candid people and will spend time with almost anyone, especially strangers. I have chatted with the Mafia as easily as I chat with foreign children. I don't care who you are; as long as you are interested in sharing a part of yourself (in a captivating fashion), I will be an avid listener. So far, very few people in my travels, have disappointed me.
I design jewelery as a serious hobby, and I maintain an active web site: http://www.visualsbysheree.com. I am self-taught in most areas including digital photography and web design.
I have been an entrepreneur my whole life and I stand firmly on a work ethic of "give it all you've got, no matter how much it hurts." |
Do You Want to Really Experience New Orleans?
Yes, it's true. Bourbon Street, with its wild night life and questionable moral environment, is part of the New Orleans experience; but it isn't a true representation of this old American city. "The Big Easy" is much more complex than that. |
Hurricane Katrina - New Orleans Nearly 3 Years After the Storm!
White travel trailers still sit parked in front of homes, many homes, in the New Orleans parishes ravaged by Hurricane Katrina back in August of 2005. Black holes hacked into the rooftops of houses attest to the stalwart ability of some to survive - even getting trapped inside their own homes.

How to Avoid Seasickness -- Treat it BEFORE it Happens! Seasickness (sea sickness, sea-sickness, motion sickness), no matter how you spell it, still spells misery. And this common malady can steal your enjoyment of that long-awaited cruise ship vacation. But with a little precaution, you should be able to ride out even the roughest seas, with little discomfort. But you must plan in advance. |
Spend Your Travel Dollars Wisely and Take a Cruise!
Cruising is the best vacation value because, besides the obvious value for your dollar, cruising provides the three things necessary for outstanding vacation value: relaxation, adventure and attention to detail. |
