Donna's children's book, Topsy Turvy Land (Hidden Pictures Publishing) has been described by one reviewer as "a perfect read for young children." Her book, No More Gunk & OUCH! Sunburn! (Guardian Angel Publishing) is a Double Doozie - two books in one. In No More Gunk! short, playful rhymes and Kevin Scott Collier's humorous illustrations help children learn in a fun way the importance of proper dental hygiene. In the bonus book, Ouch! Sunburn!, snappy rhymes, along with the 15 colorful and fun illustrations help children see the need to protect their skin in the sun. Tips in the back of each book reinforce the theme.

In Chizzy's Topsy Tale , Donna's whimsical rhymes speed Chizzy and Dotty into the jungle on a whirlwind search for tempting fruit. Solid values, like helping a friend in need and minding Momma, make Chizzy's Topsy Tale a wonderful read-aloud choice. Her newest book, Dotty's Topsy Tale , tackles the subject of discrimination

For the past twenty years, Donna's husband has pastored an Assemblies of God church in Ohio. While pursuing her degree in Theology, Donna ministers as the adult Bible class teacher, pianist, singer, and speaker.  She also teaches Greater Harvest Workshops . Donna's workshops encourage writers to move closer to becoming a working writer and published author and write pieces that will touch the hearts of readers offering hope and encouragement.

Self-described 'blogaholic,' Donna has blogs for recipes , reviews , and devotionals for both

The Secret Place

"He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty." - Psalm 91:1

The other night I watched the classic movie, The Secret Garden, made in 1949 and based on the children's book by Frances Hodgson Burnett, about a sad and troubled girl who finds peace while solving the mystery of a secret garden. Although I don't remember ever reading that book, the idea of a place to get away has always been my dream. As a child growing up in a tumultuous and stressful home, I imagined a tranquil and beautiful retreat.

Spiritual X-Ray

The good man brings good things out of the good stored up in his heart, and the evil man brings evil things out of the evil stored up in his heart. - Luke 6:45 NIV

Oh, the joy of getting older! Most of the time, I credit standard aches and pains with aging. Lately though I've had a pain in my side that won't go away. Off to the doctor I go where I receive what seems to be the standard answer, "We need to do tests." Scans and x-rays can only see so much and answers still elude the doctor as to the source of my problem. I told the doctor I wish bodies had the equivalent of a zipper where we could zzzzip, open, and look inside. Now wouldn't that be much easier?
